Our 200th Concert - Stonevale at St Giles, Great Coxwell

10/11/2025

Please join us for this wonderful milestone. 19 years ago we had our first concert at Stonevale, never thinking that we might do it again. However, it was so successful that we decided to try it a few more times, and now we are at number 200, 19 years later. And we have our original musician coming back for this concert, Christopher Terepin, now an established cellist.

Please book your tickets or let me know if you want to reserve seats.

Full details in the attached.

Best wishes,
Lynette

Upcoming Season of concerts at Stonevale at St Giles, Great Coxwell

12/10/2025

Dear all,

Our next season of concerts will start on the 12th of October with German pianist, Max Mostovetski on the piano.  All the concerts are on the website now, and tickets can be booked already.  I hope you can join us for what is going to be an excellent season with a variety of musicians, coming from all parts of the world, as well as different instruments and genres.

For a quick glance:
12 October -  Piano recital with Max Mostovetski
23 November - Tessera Viol Consort
25 January - Winterreise with mezzo-soprano Hera Protopapas
15 March - Soprano and Piano recital with Betty Makharinsky and Pavel Timofeyefksy
26 April - Cello recital with Derek de la Bernardie
7 June - Piano recital with Ukrainian pianist Ivan Hovorun

For more information or to book tickets online please click here

I hope you can join us.  As always, tickets/donations can also be made at the door.  I am trying to get as many people in the audience as possible, not only because the standard of these concerts will be extremely high, but also so that I can pay the musicians properly, and some of the funds can go towards the Church Roof Fund.

Included is a glass of wine or soft drink, and great company!

Best wishes,
Lynette

Pavlova Quintet - Sunday 27th April, 4pm at St Giles' Church, Great Coxwell

23/4/2025

Just a reminder that we have our next concert on Sunday the 27th of April at St Giles' Church, Great Coxwell.

The Pavlova Wind Quintet, based in Oxford and Abingdon, give concerts throughout Oxfordshire. They have an impressively broad repertoire that includes music in several styles, from arrangements of light-hearted favourite tunes, to the more substantial classics for wind quintet.

The aim of the group has been from the outset to explore the more unusual and exciting areas of the wind quintet repertoire. They delight in mixing the familiar and the unfamiliar, classical and ethnic, serene and virtuosic.

Over the years, the group has become one of the most enterprising and high-profile ensembles in Oxfordshire.

Sunday's concert will be the perfect afternoon with some lighter repertoire, including Cohn's Arkansas Reel, Sherman's A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square, Butterworth's Banks of Green Willow, and more.

I am including a poster with more details.  Please join us if you can.

Sunday's Concert - 6th of April at 4 pm

1/4/2025

Dear all,

Here is a flyer for this Sunday's concert at St Giles Church in Great Coxwell.  Some of you will remember Irena as a young girl, coming regularly to Stonevale to give concerts.  Irena is now a sought after and very established pianist, playing regular concerts.  Hope to see you there!

Best wishes,
Lynette

St Giles Concert

16/3/2025

Don't miss this afternoon's concert and talk at St Giles' Church, starting at 4pm.  Since being diagnosed with breast cancer and focal dystonia in 2012 and Parkinson's Disease in 2018, Nina Schumann has drawn on her status as one of South Africa's foremost concert pianists to raise awareness about living with these conditions, while providing support and guidance to musicians and non-musicians navigating similar challenges.   Tickets are available on the link, but also at the door with the usual donation box.  I really want to fill the church for her but also to further our chances of getting the bathroom and kitchen sorted in the church.

For more information and to book your tickets, please follow this link:

https://www.whitehorseconcerts.co.uk/stonevaleconcerts.

Please let me know if you would rather like to leave a donation at the church, and reserve a seat, as that is also fine. Please share this with as many people as you can, as I am trying to build the numbers but also make as much money for the artists and the church roof fund.

Next year will be the 20th year of running Stonevale Concerts, and we are approaching 200 - quite amazing.

Best wishes,
