On Saturday, 28th of September at 7 pm, Sebastian Mueller is returning to Great Coxwell to give a violin and viola recital with Lynette.  Feel free to buy tickets at this link, or give a donation at the door as usual, but do let Lynette know if you are interested in coming, so she can reserve some seats.  All tickets sold, and donations, will go towards the artist's fee as well as the much needed church charity, to replace the roof.

If you have not heard Sebastian Mueller before, now is your chance, as he is more and more based in Vienna, and might not agree to come again.  He is a wonderful concert violinist and viola player and a very sought after teacher.  If you would like to see him teach, you can also attend his masterclass on Friday the 27th at the Amey Theatre, Abingdon School, where he will teach some of their more talented pupils. Great Barn Festival is back 13th -15th of September this year. By now you should have had a flyer through your door with details on village festival discounts as well as advice on getting tickets for Sunday evening at the barn which will be free to villagers from 5.30pm. Please get in touch at [email protected] or call me, Ainslie, on 07774 459046 and I can help arrange tickets or answer questions. 
 
Stonevale Concerts will be in the evening on Saturday the 14th in St Giles, a return of piano for four hands with Aleksei Demchenko and Lynette Stulting following their sell out concert earlier in the year. There will also be a classical guitar recital with Fernando Aguera on Sunday morning in support of the church roof fund. Other villagers will feature in bands on both Saturday and Sunday. Come along and cheer them on, see who you can spot! 
 
If you would like to get involved there are always things to lend a hand with (rewards given in the bar) or if you would like to perform, exhibit or sell at the event it’s never too late!
 
With around 200 performers, that’s over 30 individual musical acts, three stage plays, storytellers, Punch and Judy, a Flea Circus, craft, nature and science activities, workshops and even a medieval village we hope we have something to get everyone involved.

We are looking forward to the next Stonevale recital at St Giles' Church in Great Coxwell.   The Torriano ensemble is a group of local woodwind professionals and the programme includes Mozart's amazing quintet for piano and winds (one of my favourite pieces of music ever) as well as Poulenc and Frost Piano sextets for piano and wind instruments.

We are so lucky to have St Giles Church for the Stonevale Concerts, as the acoustics will once again be spectacular for this selection of instruments.

It is possible to reserve seats with me personally and give donations on the day, but I would recommend buying the tickets to guarantee the seats.  The proceeds are going to the musicians, and a small percentage will go to the church for the new charity we set up, to replace the roof (£145,000 needed).

Aleksei and I are looking forward to performing this recital at St Giles.   Do come if you can, some of the repertoire we are playing will include some old favourites.  We would welcome donations, with some of it going towards the church and the upkeep of the piano.  
 
We are doing the same programme at Buscot Park, a week later, but that venue is now sold out.

Please find the flyer of our next Stonevale Concert at St Giles. We are very lucky to host the prizewinners of the Musical Odyssey every year. This international course is held in Greece and this time, we will have Lithuanian soprano, Valerija Llijn and Romanian pianist Andra Bacila to perform a voice and piano recital for us. Email me to book seats, you are also of course welcome to just come on the day - although it is always good to reserve a seat, and helpful to know how many people to expect to make sure we have enough wine!

We regret that Sunday's concert had to be cancelled due to Manus Noble getting Covid.  The responsible thing for him was to stay in Ireland, and not travel anywhere.

STONEVALE CONCERTS
 
Friday 8th March at 7 pm,  Abingdon School's talented musicians will reach out to our community and give a concert in the church.  Instruments including bassoon, clarinet, piano, cello, violin, trumpet and  piano trio. Please come and support these youngsters, as they are hugely talented and you will really enjoy the playing and their lovely personalities.
 
And on Sunday, the 10th of March at 4 pm, Manus Noble (worldclass guitarist) will return and give us a concert, on not only the guitar, but a few more related instruments.  Manus of course needs no introduction as he has been several times, and his concerts and personality on stage are breathtaking.  This concert is part of a tour of the country that Manus will be undertaking, and we are very lucky to form part of this highly acclaimed tour.

As you know, Stonevale Concerts start to host concerts in St Giles Church, as we now have a lovely new piano in that space. I am trying to advertise broader, as it would be wonderful to not only make some money for the performers, but also for the church.  
 
I decided to start selling tickets on Ticketsource, for people from outside the village.  However, I would like to continue to keep the same wonderful audience who supported me for so many years, by still offering the option of donations, at the venue.  If you want to buy tickets, great, if you want to give donations at the venue,  also wonderful, and if you just want to come and support the performers, without giving anything, that is also fine too.  
 
Please have a look at our website, we are part of three venues who are now working together.  The Christmas Concert is a benefit concert for the church, so we are selling the tickets, either here or through Pam (240233) and Pauline (243140).
