Great Coxwell Village Website |
I am very thankful to everyone in Great Coxwell who took an interest in this recent planning application. Here is an update on the current situation.
https://www.change.org/p/the-vale-of-white-horse-district-council-and-secretary-of-state-michael-gove-protect-wicklesham-quarry-from-development/u/31772164 Many thanks! Anna Hoare Cleaner / Housekeeper for Change Over Days
10 - 16 hours per week. Monday and possibly Friday each week (dependent on bookings) To change beds, a thorough clean of all lodges ready for next occupants, washing linen at the park or taking to nearest launderette, restocking each lodge ready for the next guests. The job would be ideal for a parent who has to take and fetch children from school as we can fit around these times and it would be definitely once a week, if not twice or even three times depending on booking requirements. Please email in the first instance with your cv to [email protected] to arrange an interview. A reminder that the barbecue is being held at the Vicarage on Saturday. Do come and enjoy burgers and hot dogs. There will be salads to go with them and lovely mouth-watering puds to follow. Wine and soft drinks will also be available. We hope to see many of you there and that the weather will be kind to us. No tickets needed but donations to the church on the day will be welcome.
Help needed! If anyone is available on Friday at 4pm or Saturday morning at 10am and would be willing to spend an hour to help put up the gazebo/tent and move tables and chairs, please let Pat ([email protected] or 241632 or Sylvia ([email protected] or 241179) know. We are having a picnic and Donkey Walk at Pennyhooks Farm on Sunday July 23rd starting at 11.30.
Any donations raised will go to help with the refencing of the donkey paddock for the 3 donkeys at Pennyhooks, For full details click here. The village barbecue is again going to be held in the Vicarage garden on Saturday, 22nd July from 5-8 pm. Look out for the posters around the village. We hope as many as possible will be able to join us. If you are new to the village, do come along and meet everyone.
Please let Pat (241632 or [email protected]) or Sylvia (241179 or [email protected]) know if you intend to come so that we can make sure we have plenty of everything! There will be cover but we hope the weather will be kind to us again, so that we can enjoy the garden. Oxfordshire County Council wants to make our built environments safer and more attractive places to walk and cycle. To enable this, 20mph speed restrictions are being used to help promote alternative modes of transport for local travel. Further details on how the council is considering making 20mph the new 30mph for Oxfordshire communities can be found here.
We're therefore asking for your views on the proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Great Coxwell, replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in its entirety in the process. The proposals are being put forward following road safety concerns raised by the parish, and form part of a countywide programme of works that seeks to deliver ‘a safer place with a safer pace’ for the residents of Oxfordshire. In light of this, please find the following consultation documents (see the link below):
The proposed Traffic Regulation Order is scheduled to be advertised in the Oxford Times newspaper today; Thursday 06th July 2023, and details are also available to view on the Councils consultation portal at the address below: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/greatcoxwell_20mph2023 As stated on the notice, any objections or other representations on the proposal should be submitted by Friday 28th July 2023. Please find below details regarding a planning application for an industrial estate at Wicklesham Quarry, which is still open countryside and agricultural land. If anyone wishes to comment, please note the deadline of 27 July. Thank you. https://www.change.org/p/the-vale-of-white-horse-district-council-and-secretary-of-state-michael-gove-protect-wicklesham-quarry-from-development/u/31721620
