Sebastian Muller and I are happy to announce that we will once again be part of the Great Barn Festival in Great Coxwell.   As some of you know, we played in the barn for the past two years, and it was an amazing setting.   However, we were quite limited in our choice of repertoire, because the space is very big and the acoustics are quite dry so we could not really indulge in the Romantic repertoire.  We decided to change our venue this year to St Giles' Church, and it will still be part of the Great Barn Festival.  Now we can at last play the Franck Sonata for Violin and Piano, the ideal piece for this acoustics.  Some of you might know this work, one of the most beautiful sonatas written for violin and piano.  The second half of the programme will included some selected works by Kreisler.

Great Barn Festival 22-24th September will once again fill the village with music, theatre, art and fun for all the family.

Our Saturday Audience with Mark Chadwick is all but sold out so don’t delay. Stonevale Concerts will once again be part of the attraction, this year in the slightly less draughty St Giles’ Church but ticket holders are welcome to spend the day in the grounds at the barn before taking their seats in the church for what promises to be another beautiful performance.

Boogie Me will be raising the rafters on Sunday evening for a family barn dance with a difference and we will round off with some national circuit comedians from The Cackling Bat Comedy Club – there was never a more apt venue.

Join us to kick things off on Friday Evening with Robin Hood, a musical romp through one of our favourite tales full of big laughs for all ages from the director and producer of The Show That Goes Wrong. It is a wonderful night out and the bar will be open.

White Horse Show 2023 at Uffington near White Horse Hill - August Bank Holiday Sunday 27th and Monday 28th.
 
The White Horse Show returns for 2023! This great family day out runs over the August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, with something for everyone: A professional horse and dog displays, a flyover by the Battle of Battle Memorial Flight Spitfire, falconry displays, beekeepers, craft and retail, historic cars and vehicles, stationary engines and model boats. More entertainment from Professor Crump, Punch & Judy, the Icknield Way Morris Men, the superb Ukey Dukes and the renowned Wantage Silver Band.

Plus, food, a bar, a fun dog show, petting animals and you can have a go at shooting a shotgun, or even a real historical musket. It is a fantastic, Bank Holiday Weekend day out.

Tickets on the gate. £12.50 for adults, £4 children and under-fives are free. All profits from the show are used to benefit local good causes.
