Pharmacies across Oxfordshire will be providing people with free thermometers this winter to make sure their homes are warm enough to keep them well. Patients over 60 will be offered information cards, provided by Oxfordshire County Council when collecting prescriptions, that will remind them that one of the best ways to stay well during the winter is to stay warm, and advise them to have their home heated to at least 18°C.
The free hot water bottle shaped card also features a thermometer to test the temperature of their home to make sure it’s warm enough. People with concerns about their heating bills will be advised to contact the Affordable Warmth Helpline on 0800 107 0044. The free helpline is provided by an independent charity and funded by local councils. It offers free advice and guidance on reducing energy bills, heating homes efficiently and affordably, and available grants and financial assistance. For more information or advice on how to keep warm and well this winter visit www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/keepwarm Sending many best wishes at this Solstice and Christmas time and especially hoping for a more peaceful world, and a healthy, happy 2017!
With our love and hugs, Gill Trish and Tosca xxxxxxxxxxxxx Our Dyson is not picking anything up and our team of cleaners would be very grateful if somebody with a spare working vacuum would be willing to donate it . If so, I would be more than happy to collect it .
Many thanks, Christine Fielding ( Church Warden ). In respect of the DEFRA Avian Influenza prevention zone declaration this week, please look up DEFRA’s advice on www.gov.uk if you need information.
There is a regular offender not picking up dog mess in the churchyard and around the village. It is an offence to let your dog foul public spaces and not clear up after.
