Thames Valley Police carried out a drugs warrant at Chowle Farm Industrial Estate on Friday 20 March and found over 270 Cannabis plants along with drug paraphernalia.
A 20 year-old man and an 18 year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Cannabis, cultivation of Cannabis and abstraction of electricity. They have been released on bail until 1 May 2015. Sgt. Shane Harrison, of the Faringdon Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This warrant was carried out on Friday 20 March under the Misuse of Drugs Act and was based on intelligence we received from the community". The Faringdon Farmers' Market is held on the first Tuesday of each month in Faringdon Market Square. All enquiries for stalls please to Rosemary Packer (telephone number supplied).
Just a reminder that we will be having our special Palm Sunday Procession (with Wave, the donkey) and Family Communion Service here at Great Coxwell next Sunday, March 29th. The procession will begin at the cross-roads in the centre of the village at 10.00 am and after the Family Communion service in church, there will be refreshments in the Vicarage. Our new Archdeacon Judy French will be with us and she will be giving the talk at the service. She is looking forward to meeting people afterwards. Do join us for this special service.

If anyone sees illegal burning (any burning that gives off black smoke is illegal) please contact the Environment Agency immediately on their incident report line on 0800 807 060.
As an addition to the information in our Welcome Pack, it has been suggested we provide information about local businesses. If you would like your business to be included, please let us know.
In yesterday's referendum a majority of parishioners voted in favour of the Great Coxwell Neighbourhood Plan, meaning that the District Council will use its contents in their planning considerations. In addition, those contemplating developments in the Parish now have an officially approved 'template' on which to base their designs.
The Parish Council is grateful for parishioners' advice and feedback, without which it would have been impossible to complete a project that we hope will benefit everyone living in Great Coxwell. Thank you to so many of you who voted in the referendum. Now let's make full use of the documents to meet our aspirations for our beautiful village and countryside around. |
