The Parish council and local landowners have done a lot of hedge and tree clearing in the last few weeks before the 1st March deadline after which hedges etc are not to be cut hard back so as to protect spring nesting birds. Most of the hedges have been cut at about 2 feet as this encourages re-growth from the bottom. It may look a bit rough but should become a thicker healthier hedge in the future. Some trees have been felled where they were overhanging the road. The War Memorial hedge had outgrown its location. It has been removed, the stumps will be ground out next week and a new hedge will be laid in due course. All the work has been approved by the highways inspector, the countryside officer and the district council.
