The Story of the Volkswagen Beetle will be told by our speaker Bob MacFarlane in the Corn Exchange on Thursday 8th February 2018 at 2.30pm. The Volkswagen Beetle, officially the Volkswagen Type 1, was manufactured and marketed by the German car maker Volkswagen from 1938 until 2003. This talk will take you through the life of the VW Beetle from utility vehicle to film star, and will touch briefly on the history of the British car industry. If you are a car enthusiast, interested in recent history, or just interested, this talk will appeal. Refreshments will be provided after the talk. All members are welcome but visitors are required to pay an entrance fee of £1.50.
