Reporting Potholes

28/1/2026

This is just a reminder to villagers that if you are concerned about any potholes then the process to report them is outlined here

fixmystreet.oxfordshire.gov.uk/

Specifically the potholes on The Hollow Road from the barn up to the Highworth Road are particularly bad at the moment so please take some time to register a report if you can.

There are currently 3 reports under investigation, 2 for potholes and one for the state of the passing places.

Concert this Sunday January 25th - 4pm St. Giles Church

23/1/2026

Dear all,

A reminder that our first concert for 2026 is coming up.  We have a season of wonderful singers, and Hera Protopapas (mezzo soprano) and Anjulie Chen (piano) will do a selection of Schubert's wonderful Winterreise.  Definitely not an afternoon to be missed.  If you have not booked your tickets yet, please book it here, or if you prefer to buy tickets at the door, feel free to do so.  Cash is great, but it is also possible to pay by card.  A glass of wine/soft drink is included.

For more information of about the whole year of Stonevale Concerts at St Giles, please visit our website here, or just google Stonevale Concerts... Although it is not essential, drop me a line if you are coming, as it helps me to know how many bottles of wine I should bring! Looking forward to seeing you on the 25th.

Please see the attached poster.

With best wishes,
Lynette

Say Good-bye to our Vicar - Maureen

19/1/2026

Maureen will be finishing as our Vicar – her last service in Great Coxwell being on Sunday 8 February.  Maureen joined our village and the Badbury Benefice during Covid and has been our Vicar for 5 years.  Maureen has seen many of us through highs and lows and we would like to thank her for all her devotion.  It goes without saying the entertainment on Christmas Eve at the Barn!  Maureen is now retiring and moving on to pastures new.

The Great Coxwell Village Community Group would like to invite you to join us to say good-bye to Maureen on Friday 13th February at the Reading Room.  There will be small eats (some children friendly) and a drink.  This will be between 6.00 pm and 7.30 pm.

For catering purposes, it would be good to know if you are joining us – please contact

Pam Smith – 07443636497

The Parish Council is pleased to announce that work has begun on the repairs to the Reading Room toilet which will include refurbishments to provide an ‘accessible’ facility included a changing area for parents/children. Hopefully the works will be completed by the end of January and we would like to thank all users of their co-operation during the refurbishment.
